Why do you have three Mathlathons?

If you want to be considered for the Grand Final prize, you have to take part in atleast 2 Mathlathons.
Do I get a prize even if I take part in one Mathlathon?
You will receive a gold, silver or bronze medal if you finish in top three in any Mathlathon. However, to be considered for the Grand Final Prize, you have to take part in atleast 2 Mathlathons and finish in top 3.
How are the winners for the Grand Prize selected?
The scores of the best 2 Mathlathons out of 3 are selected for every child. The average for the same is calculated. The top three students in each grade are awarded with Grand Prize and medal. If a student takes part only in one Mathlathon, he/she will not be considered for the Grand Prize. If there is a tie in the score, the student who has taken lesser time to complete the Mathlathon will be chosen over the other. If there is a tie in score and time, both the students will be announced as winners and prize amount will be equally shared among the students.
